- What happens if there is a holiday on one of the regular trash collection days?
- Follow the following rules for garbage collection when a holiday falls in the week:NOTE: Glass bottles of any color or plastic bags are not accepted as recyclables. Dispose of glass and plastic bags with the normal trash.
In discussions with our garbage collector, Winters Bros. has advised us of the following guidelines during times when there is a holiday in the week. In 2024 Winters Bros recognizes the following six holidays: - New Years Day (Monday)
- Memorial Day (Monday)
- Independence Day (Thursday)
- Labor Day (Monday)
- Thanksgiving Day (Thursday)
- Christmas Day (Wednesday)
- If a holiday listed above falls on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, garbage will be collected one day after the usual collection day. The recycle day in that week will be eliminated. Garbage collection will be back on schedule on Friday of the holiday week.
- If a holiday listed above falls on a Thursday or Friday, garbage will be collected on Saturday of that week."

- The members of our community play pickle ball and tennis periodically throughout the week. Typically pickle ball is played on Tuesday and Thursday at 9 AM. Tennis is played on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 9 AM. Go down to the courts and get your name added to the pickle ball and tennis email lists. They will help you decide what, when and where you would like to play. OR, you can contact Rich Lester for pickleball or tennis events. He'll place your name on the pickleball and/or tennis email lists so you'll know when play will take place. If you would like to participate in Mens Golf, you may contact Joe Polizzi to get the golf details. Both Rich and Joe can be reached by using the Residents List to contact them.
- We also have an informal bowling league which takes place every Wednesday at 11 AM at Port Jeff Bowl. If you want to bowl with the Setauket Meadows community members, just come down to the bowling alley and join the group. We have a lot of fun as we bowl. You'll love it!
- Pool is played Wednesday evening in the Clubhouse. Check it out.
- How often does the Setalker, our community newsletter, get published?
